Téa Leoni and Tim Daly are married.

The two stars tied the knot in New York in a small, intimate ceremony, attended only by immediate family, the actress’ rep confirmed to PEOPLE.

Daly, 69, and Leoni, 59, first met in 2014 on the set of their CBS series Madam Secretary. They played husband and wife Elizabeth and Henry McCord in the political drama, which aired for six seasons from September 2014 to December 2019.

In December 2014, PEOPLE confirmed that the pair had been quietly dating since the summer of that year. Leoni had been spotted at Daly’s performance of Red at the Dorset Theatre in Vermont over the Fourth of July weekend.

Their relationship came as Leoni officially divorced her husband of 17 years, actor David Duchovny, in August 2014.

The new couple made their red carpet debut at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., in April 2015. They were joined at the event by veteran journalist Bob Schieffer and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and the foursome sat together at the dinner and posed for photos as a group.

At the event, Daly joked to Bloomberg TV, “We’re gonna be a hot table,” referring to his famous dates for the evening.

Schieffer chimed in to share how the four came to link up for the soirée.

“I called Téa and said, ‘How would you like to come?’ ” he recalled. “And I said, you know, we’d love to have you bring Tim along.”

Days after the event, Leoni and Daly’s Madam Secretary costar Geoffrey Arend told PEOPLE that the couple’s off-screen romance even came as a surprise to the show’s cast.

“I heard a rumor about it, and everyone was like, ‘No, no way!’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe,’ ” Arend, 47, said at the time.

“Nobody really knew. You don’t want to go to your boss and be like, ‘Hey, so who are you dating?’ So now I think we’re all really protective,” he added.

Arend went on to share his approval of the relationship, telling PEOPLE at the time, “He couldn’t be a nicer guy. Tim’s the best — they’re really good together.”
