Troopers searching for driver who caused deadly, fiery crash at Florida intersection
WILDWOOD, Fla. (WFLA) — Florida Highway Patrol troopers are searching for a driver responsible for causing a deadly and fiery crash at a Florida intersection on Friday evening.
At 5:30 p.m., the unknown driver in a dark-colored SUV was traveling southbound on CR-475, approaching a stop sign at the intersection of SR-44 in Wildwood.
At the same time, a 32-year-old Inverness man was traveling westbound on SR-44, while a 39-year-old man and his female passenger were on eastbound SR-44, all approaching the same intersection.
Troopers said the unidentified driver did not yield and drove into the intersection.
The Inverness man, who tried to avoid hitting the driver, steered left and into the eastbound lanes, striking the vehicle carrying the 39-year-old and the woman.
Both of their vehicles caught fire, FHP said.

All three known victims were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries., but the 39-year-old man later died.
FHP is asking that anyone with information regarding the unknown driver to call *347 or Crime Stoppers at **8477.
