Taylor Swift Announces The End Is Near For Her ‘Eras Tour’
The Taylor Swift “Eras Tour” is now on show 100, but the end of it all is in sight.
Swift announced from the stage tonight in Liverpool, England that the tour will be over at the end of the year, ending speculation that more dates might be added.
“This is the very first time I’ve ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December,” she said before her song, All Too Well.
“I once used to have hobbies,” she joked.
“You have done so much to be with us,” she continued. “You’ve made plans so far in advance. You planned what you were going to wear. You memorized lyrics. You got yourself here. You figured out parking. You figured out transportation, and I want to spend the 100th show just thinking about that and living in that moment and being here with you, and just know I appreciate every single ounce of effort that you put in to be with us when this show reaches triple digits in shows. So thank you!”
Swift began her sold-out tour in Arizona on March 17, 2023. It’s become the highest-grossing tour of all-time after surpassing $1 billion in revenue.
The Eras Tour concert film added even more after its October 2023 debut, grossing an additional $261.6 million worldwide.
Tonight’s announcement by Swift was only surprising in that she had recently added an extension to her road show. She added 15 dates for her final North America leg, including a six-night stint in Canada.
“Turns out it’s NOT the end of an era Miami, New Orleans, Indy and Toronto: The Eras Tour is coming to you in 2024,” she tweeted at the time of the added shows.
