Taylor Swift announces new album in promo for appearance on Travis Kelce’s ‘New Heights’ podcast

Taylor Swift announced her new album early on Tuesday morning, thanks to a little help from her boyfriend.
The pop star revealed the name of her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” at 12:12 a.m. ET on Tuesday in classic Swift fashion. The announcement, naturally, crashed her website and drew plenty of speculation and chaos from “Swifties” everywhere in the hours leading up to the announcement.

Swift is set to make an appearance on Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, too. The show, which Kelce hosts with his brother Jason, teased her appearance just hours before the album name dropped.

Then at exactly 12:12 a.m. ET on Aug. 12, the podcast’s social media accounts teased another clip from the episode in which Swift actually pulled out a copy of her new album.
The album cover was, of course, blurred out. But the excitement was there, especially on Jason’s face.

Swift has been a mainstay at Chiefs games since she and Kelce started dating. He’s returned the favor at plenty of her concerts on her long-running tour, too, and he even came out on stage and danced during an Eras Tour stop in London last summer.
It’s still unclear when Swift’s new album will actually be released. It’s still a full day before Swift’s new podcast with the Kelce brothers even drops.
But, based on how her fans have handled the news trickling out throughout the day, it’s very possible that Wednesday’s podcast episode will be one of the most viewed in history.
