Off-duty Las Vegas police officer killed in deadly wrong-way I-15 crash near Valley of Fire, Metro says
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas Metropolitan police officer was killed in a wrong-way crash on I-15 early Thursday morning as he was heading home after his shift, according to Metro police.
Officer Colton Pulsipher, 29, who was in his off-duty private vehicle, was struck by a wrong-way driver. He was one of the two people killed in the overnight crash on northbound I-15 near the Valley of Fire State Park.
“He is survived by his loving wife and three children, who remain in our thoughts during this unimaginably difficult time,” Metro posted on Instagram.
Pulsipher joined Metro in 2017 and was assigned to the Tourist Safety Division, Traffic Bureau.
According to Nevada State Police, the crash involving multiple vehicles was reported just before 1230 a.m. Thursday about 45 miles northeast of Las Vegas.
Troopers said the officer and another man died in the collision and a woman, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was flown to Las Vegas by Mercy Air.

The northbound lanes of I-15 at Mile Marker 75, near the Valley of Fire/Tribal Plaza Exit reopened to drivers at 2 p.m.
