Man fatally shot in hallway at Bronx NYCHA building
A man was fatally shot Wednesday in the hallway of a NYCHA building in the Bronx during a possible robbery-gone-wrong, police sources told the Daily News.
Cops responded to a 911 call around 8:32 p.m., when they found a 26-year-old man shot in the neck in a hallway of the Saint Mary’s Park Houses on Westchester Ave. and E. 156th St. in Melrose. The bloody encounter erupted on the 7th floor of the building, cops said.
When cops arrived, they found the man in a pool of blood, and money strewn across the floor, police sources said.
Cops are investigating if the carnage was the result of robbery gone wrong, and are looking for two men who fled the scene, the sources said
The victim was taken to Lincoln Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
