6 people shot, injured across Chicago overnight in 4 separate incidents
CHICAGO – Six people were shot and injured in four separate shootings across the city late Saturday night into early Sunday morning.
The victims ranged in age between 19 and 41 years old. The shootings happened on Chicago’s North, South, and West sides.

What we know
The Chicago Police Department released preliminary information about each of the shootings.
- Around 9:39 p.m., two 37-year-old men were in a parked car in the 5800 block of West Madison Street in the South Austin neighborhood when they were shot by an unidentified offender who fled the scene. One man was shot in the leg and taken to Loyola Hospital in good condition. The other victim had a graze wound to the leg and refused to be taken to the hospital.
- A 25-year-old woman and a man were traveling in a car in the 2800 block of North Laramie Avenue in Cragin a little before midnight when they heard gunshots. The woman was shot in the arm and the man had a graze wound to the head. The man driving the car tried to flee the scene. Both were listed in good condition at Illinois Masonic Hospital. The victims told police they saw a group of people outside when the shooting happened.
- Nearly two hours later, in the 3100 block of North Central Avenue in nearby Belmont Central, a 19-year-old man was in a verbal altercation with an unidentified male offender inside a parking garage. The male produced a gun and shot the victim before fleeing the scene in a red SUV. The victim was taken to Illinois Masonic where he was listed in serious condition.
- Around 3:46 a.m., a 41-year-old man was outside in the 7400 block of South State Street in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood when he was shot by an unidentified male offender after a verbal altercation. The offender was last seen fleeing the scene in a black car. The victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he was listed in fair condition.
What we don’t know
No one is in custody in connection with any of the shootings.
